Future Music Festival

For the past four years, ER Productions has enhanced performances at Australia’s Future Music Festival using dynamic laser effects.

In 2013, ER Productions created laser displays for sets by Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim, Paul Van Dyke and Swedish House Mafia.

The relationship continued into 2014, as ER Productions was invited back to the Future Music Festival to provide lasers for all 6 dates of the tour, which featured a gig in Kuala Lumpur.

The effects accompanied artists including Chase and Status, Deadmau5 and Knife Party, using a combination of 40 red Lase-Array and six smoke machines for dramatic impact.

Given that the festival takes place across Australia and into Kuala Lumpur, ER Productions needed to provide high powered lasers that could also be easily transported and quickly rigged in a new location, so as not to disrupt the festival’s intense time schedule.

ER Productions joined forces with the Future Music Festival once again in 2015, to add a new dimension to performances by Avicii, Drake, Knife Party and The Prodigy. This marked the biggest laser show yet, with 3 tonnes of gear having to be shipped across 40,000 miles and rigged by just 7 crew.

No easy feat to deliver, but ER Productions rose to the challenge, and the single beam effects created by the company’s Beamburst coloured laser staging added a powerful visual effect to the tour.
