Laser Show News

Metallica

This was the biggest heavy metal concert the east coast of America has ever
seen... The Big Four (Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeath & Slayer) hit the east
coast in style and blew the roof off the New York Yankee Stadium. ER
Productions were proud to part of this historic occasion!

We were tasked with the responsibility of adding the wow factor to
Metallica's "Blackened" this was the only track in the concert to use lasers,
a bold move by the band... the pressure was on!

With 2 tonnes of kit and over 150 watts of laser power ER Productions hit
the United States. Working in the State of New York City has it's own
challenges to say the least not to mention the additional restrictions of
working in such an iconic venue, this was going to be a tough and exciting
challenge.

We were given free artistic range with the placement and content of the
laser effects. Using 3 x 21w white lights and  2 x 17w white lights
positioned to create a pyramid then adding the mighty power of 2 x 24w
tandem green lasers right out on the wings ER Productions were able to fill
the huge Yankee stadium with laser light.

The game play area was a no go for kit, crew and audience... This made an
ideal location for terminating the the 21w white light which stood at the
top of the pyramid giving depth and range to the show.

Using Pangolin Lasershow Designer and Showtime each laser had its own
Pangolin intro, controlled via ethernet to our stage rack with a Pangolin
Pro installed FOH, this gave us full programming capability. Also used was
our custom built Estop System which enabled us to set a 30 second delay on
starting the system, a feature required in the US.

Using pure white, green and red throughout blackened gave a very powerful
show complimented by deep blues and reds from the lighting and balls of fire
by the pyrotechnics.
