Bright and energetic is Katy Perry’s signature style, and the internationally acclaimed pop singer – who has sold 11 million albums worldwide – called on ER Productions to create spectacular laser effects to accompany several of her live performances.

ER first supported Katy during her live performance of Unconditional, featured on the album Prism, at the MTV European Music Awards in 2013. In the performance, ER recreated the triangle formation on her album cover with 24-foot tall laser beams, before launching into a multi-coloured rapid spinning motion to coincide with Katy being hoisted into the air. The colour cycle was met with a huge roar from the crowd, so evidently they appreciated the effect!
ER Productions also masterminded Katy Perry’s show-stopping Cleopatra-themed performance at the 2014 BRIT Awards. The stage flooded with bright green, magenta and cyan beams, to complement the dramatic neon costumes worn by the singer and her dancers.
In the background, laser mapping effects were used to illuminate a giant version of the iconic BRIT statue – a first on live television.

After bringing the house down at two major live events, ER Productions was a natural choice for Katy Perry’s Prismatic world tour in 2014. Global powerhouses like Katy don’t do things by halves, so a giant, bespoke touring rig was created for the 6-leg extravaganza, generating 315 watts of laser power.
The prism theme was very much the inspiration for the world tour scheme: white lasers were broken into primary red, green and blue colours and mapped around the edge of the triangular stage to create a huge coloured prism.
To add extra sparkle to Katy’s most popular numbers, ER framed the ‘B’ stage in the centre of the arena floor with laser technology, to accompany her performances of This Moment, Love Me and – fittingly – Firework.
