Years and Years
Years & Years
2016 UK Tour
It’s not really surprising that the three-piece electronic band, Years & Years, have grown in popularity so quickly...ER Productions explains why!
Years & Years' brilliant debut album, Communion, topped the UK charts and has sold somewhere in the region of 650,000 copies worldwide! And that’s not all; the band’s first UK and US tours were sold out in minutes in 2015, while their appearance on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury was packed to the rafters.
So, when the band announced new Spring tour dates in 2016, ER Productions jumped at the chance to bring an array of laser effects and choreography to the shows. Culminating in a headline show at the SSE Wembley Arena in April, ER Productions installed twelve Laserblades and four TRIPAN scanning systems upstage.
An additional ten parallel Laserblades were used to create a cage around frontman Olly Alexander at larger venues in Bournemouth, Birmingham and London.
Taking a lead from the theatrical performance and show design, which saw Olly decked out in bright costumes, sporting a rainbow flag and surrounded by cascading streamers and glitter, ER’s technician skilfully programmed all of the lasers to compliment the colours and vibe on stage.
The shows were controlled using Pangolin Beyond and racked using newly built FB4 modules.
Marc Webber, co-founder of ER Productions said “We’re really pleased with how smoothly this job went and look forward to working with Years & Years in the future – the shows looked incredible and our technician Alex did a fantastic job. His creative and colourful programming complimented the show perfectly.”
