ER's Lasers & SFX Take Centre Stage
At Coachella
ER Productions kicked off the 2019 summer season by delivering an incredible 192 lasers, alongside some amazing SFX, for three artists at Coachella Festival.
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club, in California, is a giant annual festival, that has grown tremendously since its first year in 1999 and has run over two weekends since 2012. This year, ER was commissioned as the official supplier of Lasers and SFX for two headlining acts, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala, and also for Aphex Twin.

On Friday night we accompanied British musician, Aphex Twin, a.k.a Richard James, on the Mojave Stage. His performance was a highlight for electronic music fans and was described as a ‘mind-melting cacophony of hardcore, rave, noise, techno and electro’. We rigged 10 BB4s, 6 Laserblades and 2 x SLP Greens, positioned in-between a number of LED screens, to support the lights and visuals accompanying his ‘skull-shaking’ performance.
We joined singer, rapper and songwriter, Childish Gambino, a.k.a Donald Glover, over on the Main Stage and stepped up in supplying a staggering 140 BB3s for the headline show. BB3 is ER’s very own fully DMX fixture scanning and audience exposure laser which helped create the energetic set that filled the arena with a buzzing atmosphere.
We supplied Saturday night headliner, Tame Impala, with a spectacular laser show, using 34 ER AT30s (from our brand-new Modular ATOLLA Range) with 1020 watts - one of our most powerful shows to date! We also delivered 144kg of multi-coloured confetti for each show, from 18 Stadium Blasters, which created a beautiful shower of confetti out over the Coachella audience.
