Stormzy
Brixton Academy

ER Productions joined British Grime and hip hop artist, Stormzy, at London’s O2 Brixton Academy in May for three sell-out shows.

A moody and mesmerising scheme of lasers, moving lights and thirteen moving video walls, devised by show designer Bronski, provided the perfect backdrop for Stormzy’s characteristically energetic performances.
Key laser tracks in the 70-minute set, included Cold, Too Big for your Boots, Cigarettes & Cush, Shape of You and Stormzy’s first live performance of Hear Dis.

Tyler LeDent, ER Production’s technician, rigged twenty-four red and blue Burstboxes onto the upstage and downstage truss and two, full colour Tripan scanning systems upstage right & left. He commented, “With so many moving elements in the performance, we worked closely with the show’s motion control operator and Bronski to ensure that the lasers cleared the video walls.”

To enhance the beam profile of the lasers, a Viper deLuxe smoke machine and Unique hazer filled the venue with all-important atmospheric effects.
With safety paramount, the resulting effects were cleared with the venue’s Health and safety officer. Located at FOH and on stage, ER’s propriety show stop solution, the E-Stop Interface, provided an additional layer of security.
“This was one of the biggest and most physically demanding shows I've seen on a stage this size. Stormzy is larger than life! It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the production.”
