ER Productions' new SFX range explodes onto the UK market over Christmas!

Complementing its existing collection of cutting-edge lasers, laser accessories, and smoke/fog solutions, ER Productions’ SFX stock includes a range of Magic FX Confetti systems and stage pyrotechnics, such as stage flash effects and sparkulars.

Ryan Hagan, Co-founder of ER Productions, says “We decided to invest in an SFX range after growing demand from our clients in the USA, where SFX and lasers are often supplied by the same company. Build quality and safety are central to our ethos and naturally, we require the same attention to detail from our suppliers. James Cookson and the team at Stage Electrics understand this and have helped us to grow our SFX catalogue and deliver the highest quality solutions to our international clients.”

Having débuted on OneRepublic’s Honda Civic Tour of North America in 2017, the new kit brought some festive drama to ‘Its Christmas’ with Sky Arts at The Royal Albert Hall, and over the winter season at Manchester’s The Warehouse Project.

Designed by Andy Hurst, the notable annual Christmas spectacle brought SFX into perfect harmony with the laser systems that have established ER Productions as a leading laser manufacturer and system designer.  With all the power and grandeur of a large arena laser show, but still in keeping with Hurst’s festive scheme, ER Productions imbued the historic London venue with magical effects.

Twenty BB3 lasers were rigged to the front truss to map effects across the white set and backdrop. Following a recent software upgrade, the BB3 comes with an exhaustive menu of shapes and patterns and boasts a comprehensive suite of controls.

With the lasers in constant use for the duration of the show, ER’s SFX were used at key points during to highlight headline performances. To enhance the dramatic entrance of the show’s presenter, comedian Jason Manford, six Stage Flash units were rigged on the downstage edge and fired by a wireless pyro control system from Galaxis.

Four Magic FX Stadium Shots dispersed white and silver confetti during a performance of Rockin Around the Christmas Tree by The Vamps.  An additional nine Magic FX Swirl Fans projected slow-falling white snowflake confetti across the stage during Chrissie Hynde’s performance of 2000 Miles.  A mass drop of gold and silver balloons and white streamers added a flourish to Ricky Wilson’s cover of Merry Xmas Everyone.

“We were thrilled to be involved in two big UK shows that let us marry the lasers we’re best known for with SFX and I can’t think of a better venue for the UK debut than the Royal Albert Hall.”, he concludes.
